A full feasibility study is exploring local business opportunities to manufacture and service wind turbine components.

The study is part of the Wind Turbine Manufacturing Initiative, under the Western Australian Goverment's
WA Recovery Plan.

The government has allocated $10 million to the initiative for the full feasibility study, to explore key recommendations of a pre-feasibility study completed in 2020.

The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) has engaged independent consultant Aurecon to carry out the study.

The full study is focusing on verifying opportunities for local businesses to manufacture and service wind turbine components. It is also identifying requirements for a potential manufacturing hub in Western Australia.

Aurecon is consulting extensively with industry, Government Trading Enterprises and wind farm proponents.
