Our Aboriginal employment team spends up to 18 months recruiting, mentoring and championing Solid Futures trainees and this week they proudly watched on as 21 new graduates received their nationally recognised Certificate III in Government. 🎓

Tracey Cullen has seen hundreds of First Nations trainees graduate from the program but says each cohort is special.

“It’s amazing to see how far these trainees have come,” she says.

“From often shy, nervous young people in their interviews, they’ve grown to be confident, skilled colleagues by the end of the traineeship.”

Lindsay Warner was joined by Jane Mahon from Aspire Performance Training to present the trainees with their certificates.

“Whatever you have learned from us on your traineeships, don’t underestimate what we have also learned from you,” he said to the graduates, highlighting the valuable cultural knowledge and diverse perspectives trainees bring to our sector.

These fresh alumni are now moving forward with their careers with most offered full time positions in their agencies, a great result for the sector, agencies and graduates alike!

Congrats again to the Aboriginal Employment Team – Tracey, Alicia, Lauren, Naomi and Rose.
