
Stepping into senior leadership requires more than expertise – it demands the right mindset. That is why Elev8 began its eight-month development journey last week with a powerful first module: The Egoless Leader.
This year’s participants – 24 high-performing Level 8 leaders from 18 agencies – were guided through in-depth reflections on adaptive leadership, self-awareness, leadership mindset and strategies to empower their teams.
For Morven Galbraith-Menzies from the Public Sector Commission, the experience has already been transformative.
"It's day 2 and I've learned so much. Especially in terms of the mindset I bring to work and realising how much impact that has on my team."
Daniel Oswald from the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage echoed this sentiment, highlighting a change in perspective from manager to leader.
"A key takeaway from this first module is that it's no longer just about you. It's about the team and thinking at that strategic level," he shared.
He is also looking forward to the journey ahead:
"I'm looking forward to stretching myself, learning new skills and realising the potential that people have identified in me, but I might not have seen in myself.”
For these level 8 leaders, Elev8 is just beginning, but the shift in mindset is already evident.
