The Chief Executive Officer of Western Australian-based company Red Piranha, Adam Bennett is the winner of the 2021 Defence West Aspire Award.
Presented as part of the Business Events Perth (BE Perth) Aspire Awards, Mr Bennet was recognised for his leadership in Western Australia’s growing cyber security sector.
The BE Perth Aspire Awards support Western Australian researchers, academics and professionals to attend an international or domestic business event in the interest of professional development.
The Defence West Aspire Award includes a prize of $5000 to cover cost of a member of the State’s defence industry to attend an international business event. Recipients of the award have three years to use the prize.
BE Perth will work with Mr Bennett over the next three years to organise an appropriate time to travel to the RSA Conference in San Francisco.
Mr Bennett’s company Red Piranha works across multiple industry sectors, including defence, and exports its cyber security products internationally. Launched in 2015, Red Piranha has grown into an internationally certified company that services large and small clients and partners around the world.
Red Piranha has been granted the Defence Export Permit by the Department of Defence, allowing it to export their technology to foreign governments. The company is an active member of Western Australia’s defence sector and is engaged with North Metropolitan TAFE and South Metropolitan TAFE, helping to improve the quality of next generation cyber security graduates.
Red Piranha recently partnered with Defence West to support the ‘Improving Cyber Security’ briefing at Anzac House on Thursday 9 September.
Attended by more than 60 small to medium enterprises (SMEs), the briefing discussed cyber threats to the defence supply chain and explored holistic security solutions that support SMEs becoming more cyber resilient.
