Applications for the Western Australia's Innovators of the Year (WAIOTY) 2024 awards program are now open to all Western Australian innovators with an outstanding product or service currently in an emerging or growth phase of development.
This year, the program has a prize pool of $240,000 shared across 7 winners across 5 categories. A new category for innovation within the public sector will open soon.
This year's awards are:
- WAIOTY Winner Rio Tinto – Emerging ($60,000 prize)
- WAIOTY Winner Rio Tinto – Growth ($60,000 prize)
- Woodside Energy Platinum Award for Energy Innovation ($30,000 prize)
- Wesfarmers Wellbeing Platinum Award Winner ($30,000 prize)
- Business News Great for the State Platinum Award ($30,000 prize)
- WAIOTY Runner-up – Rio Tinto Emerging ($15,000 prize)
- WAIOTY Runner-up – Rio Tinto Growth ($15,000 prize)
All finalists will receive a professional photo and video shoot and an invitation to a workshops and webinar program designed to refine pitch presentation, grant writing and IP protection and many others.
Applications close at 11:00am (AWST) Friday 31 May 2024.

The program operates under the New Industries Fund and is a valuable initiative which provides support to innovators and entrepreneurs across WA.
