Don’t miss your chance to hear about Western Australia’s (WA) contributions to the space sector, including future collaborations with NASA and how innovative WA capabilities are leading the push into this exciting new frontier.

The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation is proud to partner with the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia to bring you this exciting AmCham Business Luncheon on 10 February at the Hyatt Regency Perth.

NASA Deputy Administrator, Colonel (USAF, ret’d) Pamela Melroy will deliver the keynote speech, touching on insights such as NASA’s return to the moon, common interests between NASA and the Western Australian space sector, as well as opportunities for the applications of space technology in WA’s terrestrial industries.

A strong advocate of WA’s emerging role in the global space economy, Col Melroy was a co-founder of the Perth-based Australian Remote Operations for Space and Earth (AROSE), where she recognised the opportunity to leverage WA’s world-leading remote operations, automation and robotics capabilities for space application.

Prior to her appointment as NASA’s Deputy Administrator, Col Melroy logged over 924 hours in space, serving as the first female pilot on a shuttle flight to the space and station. She is also one of only two women to have commanded a space shuttle.

Col Melroy will be joined at the Business Luncheon by a stellar panel of speakers, including:

  • Dr Enrico Palermo, head of the Australian Space Agency
  • Dawn McIntosh, Space Systems Director at Fugro and formerly of the NASA Ames Research Center
  • Jason Crusan, vice-president of New Energy Solutions at Woodside Energy and former Director of the NASA’s Advanced Exploration Systems
  • Stephen McIntosh, Non-Executive Director at AROSE

Registrations close on Friday, 3 February.
