On 12 September 2023, the Building Services Board (the Board) determined to refuse to renew the building contractor registration of FTD Construction Pty Ltd (BC101942).

After receiving advice from Building and Energy following its investigation into FTD (also known as Fulfill The Dream), the Board was not satisfied that the company met the financial requirements for registration or that it had arrangements in place to ensure the proficient management and supervision of the building services carried out by the company.

A refusal to renew a building contractor registration enables a homeowner with incomplete or defective building work to make a claim against their policy of Home indemnity insurance (HII).

Building and Energy Executive Director Saj Abdoolakhan said people with contracts and HII policies with FTD are encouraged to contact QBE on 1300 790 723 to discuss arrangements.

“A key function of the Building Services Board is to assess applications for registration and renewal to ensure that only those building service providers who meet the requirements are registered.

“The registration and renewal process provides important consumer protection and bolsters confidence of all participants in Western Australia’s building and construction industry.”
