The Defence Ready Initiative will assist small and medium enterprises (SME's) in WA with $200,000 of funding.
The grant aims to enhance capability, capacity and competitiveness to enter or expand their business in the defence supply chain.
Up to $20,000 of funding is available per successful applicant, which can assist in areas such as:
- making improvements to internal infrastructure, plant and equipment
- meeting pre-qualification requirements for supply-chain entry
- engaging consultants for planning and business advice on matters including, strategic, marketing, finance and tender submission advice
- improvements to internal business infrastructure and systems including, cyber security, production systems, and implementation and certification of national and international standards.
- training and upskilling of employees.
"The Defence Ready Initiative will help local businesses take advantage of the exciting opportunities on offer in WA," said Paul Papalia, Defence Industry Minister.
"The previous round in 2020 resulted in 22 successful companies receiving funds, including those involved in ship maintenance and security services."
