The Western Australian Government has launched a new grant scheme providing opportunities for high-level industry staff within the Western Australian health and medical life sciences industry.

The Accelerator Program Access Grants (APAG) provides funding for senior or executive level managers to travel to and participate in recognised national or international incubator, accelerator or business training programs.

$100,000 has been allocated to this round. Up to $20,000 will be provided per organisation, which can be used to fund either one or two team members within the program, helping to offset flights, accommodation, and registration costs.

APAG is funded by the State Government's $8.65 million budget commitment to implementing the Health and Medical Life Sciences Industry Strategy, which aims to stimulate and strengthen the HLS industry through five key focus areas, including enhancing and developing local skills, particularly entrepreneurial skills and commercial capacity within the sector.

APAG is an extension of the existing Health and Medical Life Sciences Market Access Grant Scheme, which assists WA small and medium enterprises with the costs of attending national and international conferences and events to help support their business growth, access to investment and potential partnerships. Applications are still open for the Market Access Grant Scheme 2024 round.
