Now in their 23rd year, the Premier’s Science Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding scientific research and engagement taking place in Western Australia.

This year, the Premier's Science Awards are celebrating exceptional Western Australians across 8 categories:

  • Scientist of the Year
  • Mid-career Scientist of the Year
  • Early Career Scientist of the Year
  • Student Scientist of the Year 
  • Aboriginal STEM Student of the Year 
  • STEM Educator of the Year – School (Primary and Secondary) 
  • STEM Educator of the Year – Tertiary (Universities and Registered Training Organisations)
  • Science Engagement Initiative of the Year

The winner of each category will receive a generous cash prize from a total pool of $120,000 and a professional video to promote their work and achievements.

Winners and finalists of these prestigious awards are recognised for their work by peers, scientific organisations and the community. WA scientists, researchers, STEM tertiary students, STEM educators and STEM engagement providers are encouraged to apply.

Nominations are also open for the WA Science Hall of Fame, which was established in 2007 and recognises exceptional, lifelong contributions made by Western Australians to STEM.

Applications and nominations close at 10:00AM (AWST) on Friday 26 April 2024.
