The Minister made the announcement alongside Family and Domestic Violence Taskforce Co-Chairs Emeritus Professor Colleen Hayward AM and Director General, Department of the Premier and Cabinet Emily Roper, and Police Commissioner Col Blanch. The group was also joined by our people making change representatives.

Now in its seventh year, the 16 Days in WA campaign runs from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) through to 10 December (Human Rights Day).

The campaign theme for 2023 is Stopping Family and Domestic Violence: Play Your Part, which encourages everyone to take action to increase awareness of family and domestic violence, call out disrespectful behaviour and help stop the cycle of violence.

The Cook Government, today, announced $72.6 million in funding for new crisis beds, primary intervention, education and recovery initiatives, as part of the 16 Days in WA campaign. This funding boost will go towards programs that support victim-survivors, intervene with perpetrators and work towards stopping violence before it starts.
